WingMakers' First Source Disc

Book Review (copyright 2001 by J. Harmon Grahn)

The New Paradigm vol. IV,
Number 7

J. Harmon Grahn, Editor

Dear Friends,

Well, Folks, it's not easy (and maybe impossible, at least for me) to commence a study of the WingMakers without overflowing into at least one sequel. It's like studying the Great Pyramid: the more you look into it, the profounder the mystery, the more alluring the story. This happened almost two years ago, with the series, "Ancient Arrow, Parts I, II, and III," vol. II #10, 4/12/99, 11, 4/22/99, and 12, 4/26/99; and now it's happening again, commencing with the last edition but one, vol. IV #5, 1/11/01. Who knows where it will all end up? Surely not I.

"WingMakers, Revisited, Part II"
by J. Harmon Grahn

[Continued from "WingMakers, Revisited, Part I"]

In Douglas Adams's novel, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, the following paragraphs appear:

And then, one Thursday, nearly two thousand years after one man had been nailed to a tree for saying how great it would be to be nice to people for a change, a girl sitting on her own in a small cafÈ in Rickmansworth suddenly realized what it was that had been going wrong all this time, and she finally knew how the world could be made a good and happy place. This time it was right, it would work, and no one would have to get nailed to anything.

Sadly, however, before she could get to a phone to tell anyone about it, a terrible, stupid catastrophe occurred, and the idea was lost forever.1

That was fiction, of course, and never pretended to be anything but amusing entertainment. Supposing, however, someone actually did "realize what has been going wrong, and how the world can be made a good and happy place?" What then? Barring catastrophe, would he or she then "get to a telephone" and tell someone about it? Who? With what result? Would anyone listen? Or change their life?

Or imagine if Jesus of Nazareth, say, were to incarnate in a living human form in the contemporary world, with all his experience, knowledge, love, and wisdom, intact and undisturbed? He too would presumably "realize what has been going wrong, and how the world can be made a good and happy place." What do you suppose he would do about it?

This conundrum is founded upon three underlying premises. The individual having the realization...

a. Is basically indistinguishable from his or her fellows;

b. Has no greater (or smaller) access to "supernatural power" than anyone else, though may be gifted with unusual creativity and wisdom;

c. Is aware, either from the start or by experience, that whatever "solution" he or she may have, can in no way be imposed or bestowed upon another.

Again: what then?

This is the context in which I would like to consider a large volume of additional information on the WingMakers that has become available since the publication of "Part I" of this essay.

The new material comes in the form of a CD-ROM "E-book" titled WingMakers First Source Volume I, available for $17.99 at www.wingmakers.com/ebook/1source/index.html.

First Source Volume I is a many-layered, multilevel, multimedia "experience" that significantly expands the scope and resolution of what I'll be calling the "WingMakers Myth," beyond its development in materials previously available on the Net. It comes with a price tag, unlike all previous WingMakers content, because whoever/whatever is back of this mysterious information is explicitly aware of the marketing principle that no-cost items, regardless their quality, are seldom valued or used; and "they" would like to see the "WingMakers Myth" expand rapidly and widely around the planet. So, you can acquire the First Source CD-ROM, but you'll have to pay for it.

If you are as intrigued by the WingMakers as I am, my guess is you will not be disappointed. The First Source E-book is a tour de force, perhaps setting a new standard for multimedia digital presentations - although I am not knowledgeable enough about such things to be able to say that with any "authority." I can say that I am definitely impressed by the quality and scope of the work, taken as a whole; and examination of its parts yields cascades of surprising, unexpected, and delightful features.

The most salient features of First Source Volume I (in no particular order) are

* The WingMakers' Music: nine high-fidelity, richly textured selections of digital sound, accessible simply by slipping the First Source disc into a CD player, and listening;

* High resolution graphics: ten images from the chambers of the Ancient Arrow Site, rendered at high resolution, suitable for quality color reproduction;

* Additional text elements: WingMakersTM: The Ancient Arrow Project, discussed in "Part I" of this essay; a third philosophical essay, "The Blueprint of Exploration: WingMakers' Philosophy: Chamber Three;" expansion of, and additions to, the Wingmakers' Poetry; additional text selections from various sources (including three profound statements attributed to First Source); additional music selections, which you will hear in conjunction with particular text selections you will encounter in your exploration of First Source Volume I;

* Labyrinths for discovery and exploration: many of the graphics on various pages within the E-book contain hidden links, the presence of which you will not suspect until you happen to "mouseover" them; which, if followed, will lead you down hidden corridors to unexpected musical, graphical, and philosophical treasures. Perhaps you will experience some hint of the wonder experienced by the first explorers of the Ancient Arrow Site!

It will take you some time to explore and assimilate all this. I myself am writing "on the fly," so to speak, even as I explore the First Source presentation; so you should take what follows as "field notes" from a fellow explorer of "uncharted territory."

A question that keeps emerging through this entire adventure, which doesn't seem to go away is, "Who are 'they,' anyway?" The so-called "WingMakers:" the mysterious original source of the WingMakers Web site, the Music, the Art, the Poetry, the Philosophy, the Cloak-and-Dagger Story about the NSA, ACIO, Labyrinth Group, Fifteen, "Dr. Anderson" a/k/a Dr. Jamisson Neruda, ...and now the First Source E-book: Who are "they," who pulled all these elements together? It didn't all just come together by accident. It is quite clear that someone, somewhere, somehow, and for some deliberate reason, put this entire "package" together; and that "they," whoever/whatever "they" may be, are highly creative, versatile, technically competent, and profoundly insightful.

I don't claim to be Sherlock Holmes, so I may possibly be led relatively easily astray along a chain of speculative surmise. However, it appears to me that the arrows point fairly decisively toward an anonymous figure identified only as "James." In her "Letter of Disclosure," which you will eventually encounter on the First Source disc, Sarah De Rosnay writes that "James produced all of the content you will find on this disc (and those discs that will be released in the future)."2 Sarah is Mark Hempel's sole contact with the source of the various WingMakers materials, over the course of the past two years or so. Of "James," she writes,

Four years ago I had an incomparable experience. I met a person whom I have come to regard as a modern day messiah. I know this seems like an outlandish claim, but if you knew me, you'd know that I'm not prone to make claims of this sort. Unfortunately, I have no choice but to ask your indulgence and, perhaps, just a bit of your trust.

My name is Sarah De Rosnay, and the person I refer to is a young man living in New York City, who in every sense of the word, is living an ordinary life in which no one suspects the depth of his mission. Even family members are unaware of what he is here to accomplish. For reasons that aren't completely clear to me, I've been selected by this individual to be the equivalent of an apprentice or disciple.

Have you ever thought what a modern day messiah would do if he or she rejoined the human race in contemporary time? Let's assume that a messiah - in this definition - transcends the title of a spiritual teacher, and instead fulfills the role of activating generations of new thinkers to break from the bondage of centuries-held beliefs that no longer serve humanity.

What if such a person stepped forward in this century - at its very dawning - to announce a restructuring of our present-day belief systems? How would they proceed differently, from Jesus for example?3

Sarah writes with the kind of open-handed sincerity that practically always captures my credulity when I encounter it. She asks exactly the same question I did at the start of this discourse, and she tells her story pretty much as I imagine I would, were I standing in her shoes. A bit further on, she writes,

I have been asked by James to introduce him and the facts behind the mythology of the WingMakers. It's important to understand that virtually every element of this story is based in reality. However, the story, in its totality, is not real. What is real is that a teacher has come to this planet at this time to transmit a multi-dimensional, multimedia story that will act as a catalyst.

This story activates insights that are subtle and powerful at the same time. If you are stirred, if you resonate with this information, you will know it as I know it. You will sense the beautiful structure of this story and receive it into your heart and mind, and you will allow it to grow and shift your consciousness to a new point of integration.4

Coincidentally, perhaps, "Sarah" is also the name of the "journalist," originally known as "Anne" on the WingMakers website, who conducted five interviews, three of which have now been published, with the Labyrinth Group defector, "Dr. Anderson," now known as Dr. Jamisson Neruda. Could "James" and "Jamisson" also possibly be the same person? Yes, possibly. Does it matter? I doubt it. Does it to you?

Of himself, and the First Source disc(s), James writes as follows:

Dear Ones,

My friend, Sarah De Rosnay, has introduced me as James. I have read her introduction in her Letter of Disclosure. I assume you have done the same if you are reading this letter.

I am a simple man who lives for a singular mission, and the First Source discs are the fruits of this mission. There will be many stories about this disc and those that will follow. For reasons I'm certain you understand, my identity will be purposely clouded, and I encourage you to not worry about who I am, who I have been, or what my role is.

Despite what Sarah wrote and believes, I am not a messiah. As surprising as it may sound, neither was Jesus, Buddha, Mohammed, or Krishna. It's true that these were great teachers and exemplars of the human race, but they did not incarnate to liberate people, nor construct enduring religions that sheathed their teachings in the scabbard of time.

They simply had a clearer connection to First Source, earned by their penetrating visions of the universal mind, which anchored them in their personal wisdom. They were leaders because they chose to share this personal wisdom with their fellow men, hoping that in doing so, others would find their way into their own personal wisdom, too.

I have been here many times before with names you would recognize, but this incarnation is different, and I vow to remain unknown, even fictional. My soul is no different in nature than yours. I have a body, and therefore, I have my frailties - in some ways, just like you. I am not someone to worship, and I am purposely intangible to ensure this will not occur because it will only stand in the way of our mission.

The new souls that are incarnating over the next one hundred years represent the vital change agents who will be in a position to stipulate that cosmology, art, and metaphysics become the forces that revitalize humanity's role as responsible stewards of earth. It is an extremely important time in human history, and the First Source discs will find their way to select individuals and help anchor them in their personal wisdom.

I have created a portal for the consciousness of First Source to contact the consciousness of an individual in a manner that has never been done before. This connection will catalyze new forms of energy to flow through the minds of those individuals, enabling them to create the necessary technologies, art forms, and discoveries that bring about the new cosmology of First Source.

Moreover, the First Source discs will impact on all people; even those who will never read, look, or listen, and these will be in the majority I assure you. These teachings are designed for the entire planet despite the relatively small number who will actively immerse within the story and utilize this portal.

I hope you understand and honor my intentional obscurity. I also hope you will understand the format in which this portal was constructed. There is no intention to deceive you or create the impression of a hoax. I merely placed the WingMakers' website into the public domain as a platform for releasing the First Source discs. The discs will be the official record of my communication, the website will become more of a communication and update center for the discs.

The WingMakers' website created controversy and debate, and many have delighted in debunking its authenticity. Those who debate whether it is true or not true, have diminished their sight of the truth that is woven into its structure. It is my hope that the First Source discs will reunite them with the purpose of this project and calm the debate.

The disc is a tool, and like all tools, its value is directly related to how it is deployed or utilized in one's life. If you study this tool, it will supply you with a detailed instruction manual for its proper utilization. It is multi-layered and metaphorically structured in parallel with the universe, and new aspects of this disc may be activated in the future.

While my personality will always seem intangible, know that I am in this disc more vividly than any teacher that has come before to your planet. It is my nature to live in the universal mystery and personal clarity of my Self. When you are in accord, you will find me with you.

James

December 20005

According to Sarah, James describes himself, not as a messianic figure, or a master teacher, but as a "mythmaker;" and the WingMakers, and the First Source E-book, are taking shape as myths for future generations, to replace contemporary myths of the present and past. In my recent essay on "Creation Myths,"6 I wrote about exactly this, i.e. the emergence of a "New Paradigm Myth," to replace the "Greco-Roman/Judeo-Christian-Islamic Myth," and the "Scientific-Rational Myth." So I cannot assume an "even-handed, objective posture" in regard to the emerging "WingMakers Myth." You'll have to mark me down as enthusiastically in favor of it!

Understand, I am not indiscriminately in favor of just "any old myth" to replace the myths of the present and past. The "WingMakers Myth," however, is in such perfect resonance with what I have been struggling to articulate (or vice versa), that at one point I wrote, "I call it more 'new paradigm' than The New Paradigm, and that's going some, for me. If it was written by a contemporary resident of Earth, I would sincerely like to meet shim, electronically or in person. Yes, Sir, I would definitely consider it a privilege to become personally acquainted with the Author of the WingMakers' Philosophy."7 On the basis of further information, I see no reason to amend that statement. Indeed, through the First Source E-book, I feel that it is being actually fulfilled; for through that multimedia presentation I am "becoming personally acquainted" in a very real sense with "the Author of the WingMakers' Philosophy." And you can too, if you want to.

I think if you ponder deeply, you will agree with me that, with surprisingly few exceptions, everything you and I believe, or disbelieve, is myth; which is to say, "fiction or half-truth." It can be no other way, so long as we are to experience our existence in localized physical/biological bodies with unique personalities: for the scope of our imagination so far exceeds the scope of our local horizons that we have no choice but to fabricate the context of our local experiences by means of imagination; invention; myth. This we do, consciously or unconsciously, all the time. Every time we form an opinion about some snippet of "news," we are adding to, or modifying the comprehensive myth by means of which we each pilot our individual lives. We do, in fact, place the considerable weight of our entire reliance upon the integrity of our myths; and so, it is our myths, at bottom, that shape and texture the details of our everyday lives. Is it not so?

Well then, how do you like it so far? Is your world "a good and happy place?" Or do you, like I do, feel the time has come to imbibe an alternative myth; an altered vision of your, and your fellows', and your planet's place in the "Cosmic Scheme;" a "new paradigm?" If so, how is it to be done? What kind of "alternative myth," or "new paradigm?"

It's rather a tall order, don't you think? There are currently some six-point-something billion (109) human souls incarnated in physical bodies resident on this planet, almost all of whom are piloted by the myths that have manifested in the contemporary "human condition," or "human predicament." How is that to change?

Regular readers of The New Paradigm will already be familiar with my approach to this "Mission Impossible." I simply write down what I think about it, as clearly as I am able, in hopes some of my thoughts will stir or stimulate resonant thoughts in the minds of a few others. James has approached the same challenge quite differently, and vastly more creatively. Sarah has written,

I asked him several times to explain why he chose to deliver his teachings in the manner of a myth instead of a declarative, non-fiction text. His response was always the same: "When people try to capture truth, truth often slips from their grasp. But when they are drawn into a story, truth can capture them."8

Brilliant, is what I call it. And the "WingMakers Myth" may be accepted, or rejected, by anyone encountering it, entirely on the terms of his or her own Sovereign choice. What can possibly be more fair, honest, or appropriate than that? The beauty of it is, there are so many different kinds of "handles" to the "WingMakers Myth," a wide spectrum of different kinds of people can grab hold of it 'most anywhere, and find something they can relate to: Interactive Multimedia, Art, Music, Poetry, Philosophy, Cosmology, Mystery, Conspiracy, the Human Predicament, Aliens From Outer Space,... If you're not interested in any of these, what are you interested in? Watch this space. Maybe it'll enter the picture sometime soon.

Now, if we have satisfactorily laid to rest the question of where the "WingMakers Myth" came from, perhaps we may as well address the question of where it is likely to lead us, should we, as James put it, "actively immerse within the story and utilize this portal." As I said, these are "'field notes' from a fellow explorer of 'uncharted territory'," so I can only give you "off-the-cuff" impressions while in the midst of my own explorations. From what I have seen so far, not only of the First Source disc, but of the entire corpus of materials which combine in the still unfolding "WingMakers Myth," I have to say it resonates profoundly with the direction I deliberately and "independently" have decided to take. It leads, in my perception, toward a world of Cosmic Sovereignty, inhabited by Cosmic Sovereigns, entirely outside the limiting scope of hierarchical control. To me, as I have often written before,9 this is fundamental to sound social structure and harmonious human relationships.

The Glossary defines Sovereignty as "a state of completeness and inter-connectedness."

It is recognizing that as a human being you have an individuated spirit force that animates your physical, emotional, and mental aspects, and that through this spirit you are complete and connected to all other life forms through the Universal Spirit Consciousness (Source Intelligence). Sovereign beings understand that they alone create their reality and that they are responsible for their life experience. They also understand that all other life forms are equally sovereign and that they also create their unique realities. Sovereignty allows that the source of liberating information is contained within the Self, and all that is needed to create new realities is also contained within the Self. It is the point of empowerment and connection to all through the frequency of love.10

It is difficult for me to imagine a more succinct summing-up of what I have been struggling to express in The New Paradigm for the past three years. Only there is more, much more, within the length and breadth of the so far disclosed "WingMakers Myth" that likewise resonates profoundly with the disclosures of my personal Self-search. Is this the "objective analysis" of a "disinterested observer?" Obviously not. As Sarah wrote above, "If you are stirred, if you resonate with this information, you will know it as I know it. You will sense the beautiful structure of this story and receive it into your heart and mind, and you will allow it to grow and shift your consciousness to a new point of integration." Well, I am "stirred." Do take this into consideration in evaluating for yourself anything I have to say about the WingMakers, or First Source Volume I.

The Glossary defines Hierarchy as follows:

The Hierarchy extends throughout the cosmos to the very borders of discovery. It has branches that extend from every star system, every dimension; and virtually all life forms are "leaves" of this cosmological tree. The Hierarchy constitutes the grand indoctrination of species, spirits, planets, and stars as they each evolve through the branches of the tree. It is an assemblage of externals that desire to invest their energies in support of a sub-group that has nested somewhere within the greatest of all structures: the Hierarchy. Service is the operational motive of the Hierarchy, and in most cases, this translates into the concept of saviorship.

The Hierarchy is composed of entities of all motives that have linked their energies into subgroups. Think of these subgroups as independent branches of a vast, cosmological tree - a structure that encompasses all things outside of Source Reality. The roots of the tree are bound in the soil of genetic memory and subconscious identity. At the base of the tree the first branches sprout and they are the oldest, representing the native religions of the specie [sic]. The middle branches are the orthodox religions and institutions, while the upper branches represent the contemporary belief systems that are newly emerging throughout the universe. The whole tree, in this definition, is the Hierarchy, and its purpose is to advance the evolution of life through a superstructure that results in the teacher/student ordering of the universe.

First Source is connected to individuals not organizations. Thus, the Hierarchy is unconnected to the Source in a vital and dynamic way. The Hierarchy is more connected to its own collective desire to help, to serve, to perform a function that allows the use of power in a positive way. In itself, this is not wrong or misguided. It is all part of the Primal Blueprint that orchestrates the unfoldment of consciousness from collective to individual and individual to collective. This is the spiral of integration that breeds wholeness and perfection within the Source Intelligence.11

Precisely. Even though "The Hierarchy extends throughout the cosmos to the very borders of discovery," nevertheless "First Source is connected to individuals not organizations;" and the Hierarchy is "a structure that encompasses all things outside of Source Reality." Moreover - and this ties it all together - again quoting the Glossary,

There are two dominant models of existence that shape the interaction and destiny of the human race. These models of existence are:

* The Evolution/Saviorship model

* The Transformation/Mastership model

Each human is developing their belief system from one or both of these models of existence. The evolution/saviorship model is the dominant model that is promulgated by the Hierarchy. Its basic tenets are that life evolves through the Hierarchy's teacher/student methodology, and that various teachers (saviors) are presented to the human race that enable sub-hierarchies to develop and control information. In so doing, individuals are disempowered and disconnected from their sovereignty. The underlying equation of the evolution/saviorship model of existence is:

human instrument + Hierarchy = God connection through saviorship.

In the case of the transformation/mastership model of existence, its principle tenets are that the entity is limitless, deathless, and sovereign. All information flows from Source Intelligence to the entity, and, it is therefore the responsibility of the entity to become self-enlightened and self-liberated by attuning itself to Source Intelligence and "detuning" itself from the Hierarchy. Each becomes their own master, and each transforms from a human being to a Sovereign Integral within the cradle of time and space. The underlying equation of the transformation/mastership model of existence is:

Entity + Source Intelligence = First Source equality.

One of the challenges of the individual is to recognize these two dominant models of existence and integrate them in order to design a synthesis model. The synthesis model is slowly emerging on terra-earth, and with high probability, will ultimately become the dominant model of existence in this universe. It will be the model of existence that is best able to unify consciousness without impinging on the sovereignty of the entity and First Source. It will allow the entity to be the vibrant container of Source Intelligence and explore new fields of vibration as a fully conscious outpost of First Source.12

Yes, Yes, YES! This, as I see it, is where the "WingMakers Myth" is headed; and it is where I am headed too, and where I believe (and the WingMakers believe) the human race is headed, not only here, but throughout the universe. I imagine this either resonates with you, or it does not. If it does, I have a hunch you're going to enjoy the First Source disc very much, on many levels of personal experience. If not, I rather doubt you will have read this far, for one thing; and for another, I have every confidence that, as James wrote, "the First Source discs will find their way to select individuals and help anchor them in their personal wisdom."

There is a good deal else I could add, and possibly will, in yet another sequel. I have made no criticisms of the First Source disc, yet as I'm sure both James and First Source would agree, there is nothing so perfect it cannot be improved. However that may be, I can say to James, without reservation,

First Source Volume I is a masterful piece of work, James; well done! You've certainly more than "gotten to a telephone" with your message. Thank you.

You have stated that you are not someone to worship, and to do so would clearly be at odds with what you and the WingMakers teach. I am therefore profoundly honored to be a peer with so masterful a teacher. You have incalculably enriched our world with your presence. Again, thank you.

Love & Light,
Harmon
